Christmas Field Trip
9:20am, November 30, 2023
Christmas field trips following the Fall learning opportunity, only with a Christmas theme. We will be featuring the book, “Mistletoe the Christmas Kitten”. Students will read this touching story as they walk through our story trail. This is in addition to the normal field trip activities.
Teachers will receive their very own copy of Mistletoe and the Christmas Kittens!
Select Weekdays from 9 AM to 1 PM are reserved for field trips only. The general public is not allowed on the grounds during those hours.
~Please allow 2 1/2- 3 hours for all activities.
~Field trip rate only available to public, private and preschools.
~Parents and siblings are welcome; however, they must pay the same admission price as the students.
~The Country Store and Sweet Shoppe will be open for all guests to purchase souvenirs, candy, farm made fudge, drinks, jellies and more.
~Extreme, unforeseen weather can force us to close at any time. If you are in doubt about the weather conditions, please check the weather magnet at www.cmfarmsllc.com or call 337-328-8916 before departing for CM Farms.
~Dress comfortably as if you are going camping. No sandals or flip flops. Wear shoes conducive to walking. Remember that you will be on a farm, so dress appropriately for the best experience. There is not a wind block from the cold fall/winter winds, so please advise students to dress warmly.
~ Restroom facilities in the pavilion!!
~A Germ-X station is located next to the farm animals.
~CM Farms accepts cash, credit cards and School checks.
~Our CONCESSION STAND will be open for adults to purchase food, BUT STUDENTS WILL NEED TO BRING A SACK LUNCH!

*Wagon Ride through the CM farm fields to see the cows.
*LIVE Milking Demonstration in the Milk Barn.
*Lesson on the Wagon Ride about how animals and agriculture plays an important role in the students lives.
*"Corn Barn" -play in the crunchy corn!
*Sand Pile with diggers
*Rubber Duck Races
*Dirt Mountain with culvert slide!
*Tire Pyramids
*Farm Animals (Educational signs posted about that animal)
*"Farm Animal" Barrel Train

*Bounce on our GIGANTIC JUMPING PILLOW!! Kids will LOVE bouncing around on this "trampoline on the ground!"
A tour of our "Step Back In Time" display of past farming tools, equipment, and Corn Crib dating back to the 1950's!
*Each STUDENT will receive an ice cream cup of feed to feed the animals at the animal barn.
ADDITIONAL FUN: Gem Stone Mining (each student will receive their own bag of mining rough and a bag to bring home the gems they discover) at the Alva Lee Mining Station. This new activity will be an additional $5.00. If you choose to add it to your field trip, click on the “Alternate” price when you book your field trip.
